Wouldn’t it make sense that a lifelong “car guy,” who spent most of his life in Ford’s hometown of Dearborn, Michigan, would naturally end up as FPT’s go-to guy at……Nissan?
Five years ago, Bill Sulak, a 36-year-old University of Michigan graduate, was hired by John Kronk Plant Manager Steve Benacquisto into FPT’s management training program. Since then Bill’s spent his time learning scale operations, equipment operations and the peddler business along the way. After earlier career stints in accounting and mortgage banking, he quickly discovered that FPT’s complex operations and trade activities were a far cry from “Sanford & Son.”
Bill was in the right place at right time to join FPT’s efforts to win the Nissan business just before the initial contract award in 2008. It’s been onward and upward from there.
With the expansion of FPT’s role at Nissan’s Tennessee and Mississippi plants tagged to the recent five-year contract renewal, coupled with other business that takes him from Michigan to Alabama, Bill does his best to fit in family time with his wife Shawn (also a native Dearborner) and their two children.
Bill and his family have recently moved to Bay Village, Ohio to join the FPT Cleveland office.
